USC Trojans Baseball Shines in 2026 MLB Draft: Meet the Prospects
The 2026 MLB Draft has concluded, and four players from USC Trojans baseball program were chosen. Mason Edwards, a standout left-handed pitcher, was the first Trojan selected at No. 47 overall in the second round. Edwards had an impressive season, earning Big Ten Pitcher of the Year honors with a 1.97 ERA and 159 strikeouts. Augie Lopez, a catcher, was picked in the 10th round by the San Diego Padres after a strong season with 19 home runs and 57 RBIs. Grant Govel, a right-handed pitcher, was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 16th round following a successful sophomore year with a 2.93 ERA and 96 strikeouts. Adam Troy, another right-handed pitcher, was chosen by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 17th round after recording a 4.56 ERA and 26 strikeouts in his one season with the Trojans.
