Emerging Distributors Take Center Stage at CinemaCon's Film Showcase

CinemaCon, a trade convention for exhibitors, has evolved into a platform similar to Comic Con for studios to showcase their upcoming projects, interact with theater owners, and screen exclusive content. The convention, set to begin on April 13 in Las Vegas, will introduce a new "Film Showcase" segment featuring three different distributors: Angel Studios, Row K Entertainment, and Studiocanal. This initiative aims to provide emerging players in the industry with a prominent stage to present their film slates and diversify the cinema experience for audiences.

In addition to the three featured distributors, Neon and Amazon will also participate in CinemaCon, highlighting the growing importance of independent distributors in the film industry. The "Film Showcase" presentations will kick off the convention on Monday afternoon, setting the stage for a week of exciting announcements and screenings. Angel Studios, known for its success with films like "The King of Kings," will be joined by Row K Entertainment, a newcomer with upcoming releases like "Poetic License" and "Charlie Harper," and Studiocanal, an established international distributor with a lineup including "How to Make a Killing" and "Silent Night, Deadly Night."

Michael O'Leary, President and CEO of Cinema United, expressed enthusiasm for the inclusion of Angel, Row K Entertainment, and Studiocanal in the new program, emphasizing the importance of diverse film offerings from various distribution partners. The collaboration between these distributors and theaters worldwide plays a crucial role in delivering quality movies to audiences of all ages, highlighting the significance of independent players in the film industry.
