Up to No Good: A New Channel 4 Drama Starring Glenn Close and an All-Star Cast

A new Channel 4 drama titled Up to No Good, starring Glenn Close, has finalized its cast with additions including Claudia Jessie, Penelope Wilton, and Meera Syal. The series, previously known as Maud, is based on the short stories by Swedish writer Helene Tursten and centers around Maud Oldcastle, an aging killer seeking a fresh start. Jessie plays Hannah, a detective investigating a death in Maud's building, while Syal portrays Margaret and Wilton takes on the role of Charlotte. Other cast members include Gloria Obianyo, Anita Dobson, and Ben Crompton. Lee Haven Jones is set to direct the series, with Nina and Moses Raine writing the scripts.

Produced by Playground, the show is being distributed by Sony Pictures Television. Andrew Plotkin from Sony expressed excitement about Jones directing the series and praised the collaboration between the cast and writers. The series was commissioned by Channel 4 and executive producers include Scott Huff, Colin Callender, Glenn Close, Lee Haven Jones, Nina Raine, and Moses Raine. Morenike Williams serves as the series producer.

Glenn Close joins a list of prominent actors who have appeared in Channel 4 dramas, following the likes of Gillian Anderson, Paapa Essiedu, and Keeley Hawes. Up to No Good promises to deliver a compelling narrative with a talented cast and creative team at its helm.
