Sky and Disney Announce Partnership Bringing Disney+ to Sky Customers in the U.K. and Ireland

Sky and Disney have announced a new partnership that will bring Disney+ to Sky customers in the U.K. and Ireland at no additional cost. Starting in March 2026, Disney+ will be included in various Sky TV subscriptions, saving customers £5.99 per month. Sky will also introduce a dedicated Disney+ Cinema linear channel as part of the deal. Customers can activate Disney+ through Sky products like Sky Q, Sky Glass, and Sky Stream, and those who switch their accounts to watch via Sky can also benefit from the cost savings.

In addition to offering Disney+, Sky will bundle HBO Max, Netflix, and Hayu into a single Sky TV subscription, starting at £24 a month for a two-year contract. This integration aims to simplify the viewing experience for customers and provide a seamless way to access a variety of content. The deal includes promoting Disney+ shows alongside Sky content on the platform, enhancing the overall viewing experience for subscribers.

Sophia Ahmad, chief consumer officer at Sky, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the deeper level of product integration that will benefit customers. Karl Holmes, Disney+ general manager in EMEA, emphasized the opportunity to reach millions of Sky customers who have not yet subscribed to Disney+, offering them access to the platform at no extra cost. The agreement is expected to significantly increase Disney+'s reach in the U.K. and Ireland, providing a complementary and additive growth opportunity for both companies.

While specific details of the agreement were not disclosed, Holmes mentioned that it is a multi-year deal, indicating a long-term commitment to the partnership. The collaboration between Sky and Disney does not extend to co-productions or the distribution of Disney+ content outside of the streaming platform and linear Disney+ Cinema channel. Overall, the partnership aims to enhance the viewing experience for customers and expand the reach of Disney+ in the U.K. and Ireland.
