Colorado Buffaloes Fall to No. 16 Texas Tech in Tough Road Game

The Colorado Buffaloes faced a tough defeat against No. 16 Texas Tech in a road game at United Supermarkets Arena. The Buffs struggled to keep up with the Red Raiders, who dominated the game from start to finish. Despite a brief spark from freshman Ian Inman, the Buffaloes couldn't overcome the strong performance by Texas Tech. The Red Raiders built a significant lead in the first half and extended it further in the second half, leaving CU unable to mount a comeback.

Texas Tech's strong rebounding game was a key factor in their victory, as they outrebounded the Buffaloes 47-30 and capitalized on second-chance points. Forward JT Toppin led the way with a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. In contrast, the Buffs struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting just 29.1% from the field and 10% from beyond the arc.

The loss marked CU's 12th consecutive defeat against a ranked team and their 24th consecutive loss against a ranked opponent in a true road game. The Buffaloes will look to bounce back in their next game against No. 22 BYU, another tough road challenge. Despite the disappointing result against Texas Tech, CU will aim to regroup and put up a stronger performance in their upcoming matchup.
