Meet Campbell Wright: The Dual Citizen Biathlon Olympian Representing Team USA at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics

Campbell Wright, a 23-year-old biathlon Olympian, is set to compete in the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026 as part of Team USA. Despite being born in Wanaka, New Zealand, Wright is able to represent the United States due to his dual citizenship. He previously competed for New Zealand, achieving success at various levels, including the 2022 Beijing Olympics and World Championships in 2021 and 2023. In 2023, Wright made the switch to Team USA for enhanced training and funding opportunities. Born to American parents, he was able to transition to Team USA seamlessly thanks to his dual citizenship and American passport. Wright discovered his passion for biathlon in 2016 at the age of 14 while living near the Snowfarm, a ski area in New Zealand known for cross-country skiing. Alongside teammates Maxime Germain, Deedra Irwin, and Margie Freed, Wright will participate in the biathlon event at the upcoming Winter Olympics on Sunday, February 8.
