Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift - Universal Studios Hollywood's Thrilling New Roller Coaster Experience

Universal Studios Hollywood is gearing up for an exciting summer with the upcoming launch of its new rollercoaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. The park has released a 30-second commercial featuring franchise star Vin Diesel, which will be aired during NBCU's coverage of major events like the Super Bowl LX, The Winter Olympics, and the NBA All-Star game on NBC and Peacock. The ride is set to open this summer, with the exact date to be announced soon.
The commercial showcases the ride's unique "drift" function, where cars spin as they race across the track at speeds of up to 72 MPH. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be the park's first high-speed outdoor roller coaster, spanning across multiple levels of the backlot. The ride vehicles, inspired by Dominic Toretto's Dodge Charger, will offer guests a thrilling experience with 360-degree rotation as they navigate the 4,100 feet of track.
The roller coaster is designed to create the sensation of drifting cars at high speeds, with sound reduction technology ensuring a smooth and immersive ride. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be the fastest roller coaster in the Universal Destinations & Experiences portfolio, with plans for a similar ride at the company's Orlando resort in the future. Fans can catch a glimpse of the ride in the teaser video released last summer.
Vin Diesel, who plays a key role in the Fast & Furious franchise, recently announced the release date for the next film in the series, titled Fast Forever, set to hit theaters on March 17, 2028. With the anticipation building for both the new roller coaster and the upcoming film, Universal Studios Hollywood is gearing up for an action-packed summer of thrills and excitement.
