Patrick Mahomes Sr. Arrested for Alleged Probation Violation: A Look at the Recent Legal Troubles of the Former MLB Star

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, was recently arrested for allegedly violating his five-year probation sentence related to a 2024 DWI arrest. The 55-year-old former MLB star was taken into custody at Smith County Jail in Texas on Tuesday morning.

Reports indicate that Mahomes Sr.'s SCRAM alcohol ankle monitor detected a high alcohol reading, prompting authorities to conduct urine tests on January 5 and January 9, both of which came back negative for alcohol. However, on February 3, it was alleged that he had consumed alcohol on New Year's, leading to the filing of a motion to revoke his probation.

Despite previous arrests, Mahomes Sr.'s most recent run-in with the law occurred in February 2024 when he was stopped by police for an expired registration. He admitted to consuming alcohol, and a subsequent test revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.23. In August 2024, he pleaded guilty to DWI charges and agreed to a five-year probation with strict conditions, including no alcohol consumption and community service.

The court has yet to schedule a hearing regarding the motion to revoke Mahomes Sr.'s probation. The former baseball player's legal troubles continue to unfold, with his latest arrest shedding light on his ongoing legal battles and the consequences of violating probation terms.
