Exciting Changes at Churchill Downs: Kentucky Derby Week Schedule Shake-Up

Churchill Downs is shaking things up for Kentucky Derby week with some exciting changes. The track has announced that the meet opener and kickoff will return to the afternoon on April 25, marking the first time since 2010 that the event will not be held at night. Post time for the opening day will be at 12:45 p.m. Additionally, Churchill Downs is adding another day to the schedule, with racing on the Sunday after Opening Day making a comeback for the first time in 15 years on April 26, also starting at 12:45 p.m. There will be no racing on the following Monday, April 27. Tickets for all special events during Kentucky Derby Week will go on sale Thursday at noon, leading up to the 152nd Kentucky Derby on May 2.
