Bringing Eragon to Life: Disney+ Series Development Update

Eragon, the live-action adaptation of Christopher Paolini's The Inheritance Cycle book series, is moving forward with its creative team and writers room. Todd Harthan, known for High Potential, will co-create the series with Paolini, while Todd Helbing and Marc Webb are set as co-showrunners and executive producers. The project is being developed by Disney+ and 20th Television, with a writers room established last year.

The series follows an ordinary teenager chosen to be the first Dragon Rider in a century, who must bond with his dragon, master ancient magic, and confront a tyrannical king. Todd Harthan, Todd Helbing, and Christopher Paolini are among the executive producers of the series, along with Marc Webb and Bert Salke. Harthan has a successful track record with shows like High Potential and Rosewood, while Helbing has worked on projects like Superman & Lois and The Flash. Paolini is known for The Inheritance Cycle series and holds a Guinness World Record for the youngest author of a bestselling book series.
