Bill Gates Denies False Claims by Jeffrey Epstein in Newly Released Documents
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has refuted claims made in an email by Jeffrey Epstein, the late sex offender, alleging that he had contracted a sexually transmitted disease from encounters with women and attempted to secretly provide antibiotics to his then-wife. Gates addressed these allegations publicly for the first time following the release of new files related to investigations into Epstein by the US Department of Justice. His ex-wife, Melinda, has urged him to respond to the accusations outlined in the documents.
In an interview with Nine News, Bill Gates denied the accusations put forth in an email from Jeffrey Epstein, where it was suggested that he had acquired a sexually transmitted disease and sought to provide antibiotics to his then-wife in secret. Gates clarified that the email was never sent and labeled its contents as false. He expressed regret for any association with Epstein and emphasized that his interactions with Epstein were limited to dinners, denying any involvement in inappropriate behavior.
The latest documents reveal that Bill Gates had multiple meetings with Epstein post his 2008 prison sentence to discuss expanding philanthropic efforts. Epstein's email to himself in 2013 implied that Gates had contracted a sexually transmitted disease and sought to provide antibiotics to his then-wife clandestinely. Gates dismissed these claims as untrue and expressed remorse for any association with Epstein. Melinda French Gates has also called for answers regarding the allegations outlined in the documents.
Epstein's email to Gates expressed disappointment over the end of their friendship and accused Gates of engaging in morally inappropriate and ethically unsound activities. Epstein claimed to have resigned from his roles with the Gates Foundation and BG3, a think tank founded by Bill Gates, due to being embroiled in a marital dispute between Melinda and Bill. A spokesperson for Gates dismissed these allegations as baseless and emphasized Epstein's attempts to defame Gates.
Bill and Melinda Gates were married for 27 years before their divorce in 2021. Melinda later revealed that Bill had an affair with a Microsoft employee in 2019, a fact confirmed by Bill Gates. Despite their initial commitment to continue their philanthropic work together, Melinda resigned from the Gates Foundation in 2024. She expressed sadness over the situation and highlighted the need for justice for the women affected by Epstein's crimes. Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former girlfriend and accomplice, is the only individual convicted in connection with Epstein's sex trafficking offenses. Melinda French Gates described the allegations of child sexual abuse as deeply distressing.
