Rare Autograph Book with Beatles Signatures and George Harrison's Guitar String Sells for £7,000 at Auction
A rare autograph book containing the signatures of all four Beatles, along with George Harrison's broken guitar string, was recently sold at auction for £7,000. The album, which was auctioned by Richard Winterton Auctioneers, was signed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr in 1963. Elizabeth Salt, a devoted fan who met the Beatles at the Savoy Ballroom in Southsea, collected the signatures, including George's snapped guitar string. Elizabeth, now 79 and residing in Lichfield, also had other 1960s stars like The Rolling Stones, Cliff Richard, and Adam Faith sign her book. The autograph book was eventually purchased by a UK-based online bidder. Rob French, an ephemera valuer at Richard Winterton Auctioneers, expressed his excitement about the unique collection.
