Netflix Acquires Action Thriller 'Kill Switch' Starring Jake Gyllenhaal

Netflix has acquired the action thriller spec Kill Switch from writer Harrison Query, with Jake Gyllenhaal set to star in the film. The movie is said to be a mix of Collateral and Sicario, but the plot details are being kept secret. The project will be produced by 6th & Idaho's Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris, along with Gyllenhaal and Josh McLauglin's Nine Stories banner, and Scott Glassgold's 12:01 Films. Query will serve as an executive producer on the film.
This deal marks the second collaboration between Query and the team, following the success of the political thriller short story "Code Black" at Amazon MGM, which also starred Gyllenhaal. Query has been on a winning streak, with his TV series Trigger Point receiving a straight-to-series order from Netflix and his spec script The Operator being picked up by the streaming service with Mark Wahlberg attached to star.
Gyllenhaal, who has been busy with projects like Apple's Presumed Innocent and the upcoming Road House sequel, is also set to star in the Frankenstein-inspired gothic crime flick The Bride! and M. Night Shyamalan's Remain. 6th & Idaho's The Wrecking Crew, starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista, is currently the top film on Prime Video, and the company is working on projects like The Batman Part II and Dynamic Duo for DC and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.
Scott Glassgold and his company 12:01 Films have been having a successful year, with recent projects like "Grand Rising" at Searchlight and high-profile sales like Ripped at 20th starring Dwayne Johnson. They are also gearing up for Drew Hancock's adaptation of Query's novel, My Wife and I Bought a Ranch, for Amazon MGM Studios.
