Bill and Hillary Clinton to Testify Before House Oversight Committee in Epstein Investigation

The House Oversight Committee has announced that Bill and Hillary Clinton will testify as part of the panel's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. Hillary Clinton is scheduled for a deposition on Feb. 26, while Bill Clinton will appear on Feb. 27. The Clintons initially resisted but eventually agreed to the committee's terms to avoid a contempt of Congress vote.

Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky confirmed the Clintons' decision, stating that they will participate in transcribed, filmed depositions this month. The Clintons had requested a public hearing, citing concerns about fairness, which led to the postponement of the House's vote on holding them in criminal contempt of Congress.

Initially, the Clintons' legal team proposed a four-hour transcribed interview for Bill Clinton in New York City and a sworn declaration from Hillary Clinton. However, the committee rejected this offer as unreasonable. Subsequently, the Clintons' legal team informed the committee that they accept the terms and will appear for depositions on mutually agreeable dates.

This acceptance represents a significant shift for the Clintons, who had previously argued that the committee's subpoenas were invalid and legally unenforceable. Their decision to testify reflects their readiness to fight for the country's principles and people, regardless of the consequences.
