NFL Expands Global Reach with Regular-Season Games at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid

The NFL has announced a new multiyear deal to play more regular-season games at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid. The first NFL regular-season game in Spain took place last November, with the Miami Dolphins defeating the Washington Commanders in front of a crowd of 78,610 fans. This marked the seventh international game of the season for the league, which is expanding globally.
In addition to Madrid, the NFL played for the first time in Dublin and Berlin in 2025 and returned for a second year to Sao Paulo while also playing three more games in London. Talks have been ongoing about organizing a game in Barcelona as well. The league aims to increase the number of international games to ensure that each team gets to play a game abroad every year, with plans to expand to Asia in the future.
This year, the NFL will also play games in Australia, Rio de Janeiro, Munich, and London. The Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Bears currently hold marketing rights in Spain. The league is committed to further expanding its global presence and providing fans around the world with the opportunity to experience NFL games firsthand.
