Dallas Stars Acquire Defenseman Jeremie Poirier in Trade with Calgary Flames

Poirier has accumulated six points in 35 games with the Calgary Wranglers in the AHL this season, along with 24 penalty minutes. His performance in the previous season showcased his offensive capabilities, as he led his team in assists and ranked among the top players in shootout goals and shots taken. Poirier has also made significant contributions in the Calder Cup Playoffs, recording 12 points in 17 games over three playoff appearances.
With 198 career AHL games under his belt, Poirier has amassed 102 points playing for the Calgary Wranglers franchise. Standing at six-foot-one and weighing 190 pounds, Poirier was drafted by Calgary in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft. In exchange for Poirier, the Dallas Stars have sent defenseman Gavin White to the Calgary Flames.
White, a 23-year-old defenseman from Brockville, Ontario, has recorded five points in 23 games with the Texas Stars this season. Throughout his AHL career, White has accumulated 27 points in 118 games, all with the Texas Stars. He has also made a playoff appearance, registering one assist in six games. White was drafted by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
