Standing at six-foot-one and weighing 190 pounds, Poirier was drafted by Calgary in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft. In exchange for Poirier, the Dallas Stars have sent defenseman Gavin White to the Calgary Flames.
White, a 23-year-old defenseman from Brockville, Ontario, has recorded five points in 23 games with the Texas Stars this season. Throughout his AHL career, White has accumulated 27 points in 118 games, all with the Texas Stars. He has also made a playoff appearance, registering one assist in six games. White was drafted by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
