Washington Dominates Northwestern with Impressive Performances from Steinbach, Diallo, and Yates

Washington secured a 76-62 victory over Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena, with Hannes Steinbach, Zoom Diallo, and Wesley Yates III leading the charge with a total of 65 points. Steinbach recorded his fourth consecutive double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds, matching a freshman record set by Isaiah Stewart. Diallo contributed 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Yates added 21 points, including a career-high five three-pointers and three steals. The Huskies established a 39-27 halftime lead, extending it to 21 points early in the second half before Northwestern attempted a comeback with two separate scoring runs. However, Washington maintained control to secure the win.
Nick Martinelli, the leading scorer in the nation with an average of 24 points per game, managed to score 19 points and grab nine rebounds for the Wildcats. This performance ended his streak of scoring 20 points or more in 12 consecutive games, the longest in the country. Washington will face Iowa on February 4 at Alaska Airlines Arena.
