The Beatles: A Four-Part Biopic Saga Unveiled

Sony has unveiled the first glimpse of the actors portraying The Beatles in an upcoming four-part biopic. The cast includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Director Sam Mendes announced the project, stating that the movies will delve into the individual stories of each band member. The films are being written by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne, with production already underway.
The star-studded cast also features Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as Brian Epstein, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, Harry Lloyd as George Martin, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey. Mendes expressed his long-standing admiration for The Beatles and his desire to create a movie about them. He decided on four separate films to fully explore the band's epic story and provide a new generation with a deeper understanding of their legacy.
Titled "The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event," Mendes described the project as the "first bingeable theatrical experience." The movies will trace The Beatles' journey from aspiring musicians in Liverpool to international superstars. Sony studio boss Tom Rothman emphasized the innovative release strategy for the unprecedented project. Fan reactions to the casting of the Fab Four were mixed, with some expressing disappointment in the actors' resemblance to the band members. However, Paul Mescal's portrayal of Paul McCartney received praise for capturing the essence of the iconic musician.
