Remembering Tom Cherones: A Tribute to the Director and Producer of Seinfeld

We are saddened to announce the passing of Tom Cherones, a renowned director and producer known for his work on the hit sitcom Seinfeld. Cherones, who directed and produced 81 episodes of Seinfeld during its first five seasons, passed away at the age of 86 after battling Alzheimer's disease at his home in Florence, Oregon.
Cherones played a significant role in shaping the visual style of Seinfeld, capturing the essence of the "show about nothing" with his unique approach to shooting multicamera scenes. His work on iconic episodes like "The Chinese Restaurant" and "The Parking Garage" helped solidify Seinfeld's place in television history.
In addition to his work on Seinfeld, Cherones directed episodes of other popular shows such as Ellen, Caroline in the City, and NewsRadio. He was also a dedicated educator, teaching television production at the University of Alabama for 12 years.
