In Loving Memory of Mrs. Adele Springer: A Tribute to a Beloved Member of the Crown Heights Community
On January 9, 2026, the Crown Heights community mourned the loss of Mrs. Adele Springer, the beloved wife of Rabbi Itche Springer. Mrs. Springer, who had been a resident of Crown Heights for many years, passed away at the age of 85. The couple had the honor of having the Rebbe officiate as Mesader Kiddushin at their wedding, which took place on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz 5719. Prior to the wedding, Rabbi Itche had requested the Rebbe's presence, and the Rebbe had set a condition that the bride's father grow a beard. After some initial hesitation, the father agreed, and the Rebbe officiated at the wedding. Mrs. Springer is survived by her children: Rivky Wolf, Chani Kagen, Mendel Springer, Leah Levine, Chaya Schildkraut, and Chaim Springer. The funeral procession will pass by 770 today at 12:30, followed by burial at 1:30 pm. May her memory be a blessing.
