Score a Seat at the Super Bowl: Donate Blood and Win Big!
Securing tickets to the Super Bowl can be a costly endeavor, but there's a unique opportunity to score a seat at the big game by donating blood. In honor of National Blood Donor Month, the American Red Cross has launched a nationwide campaign to encourage blood donations during a critical time when supplies are needed most. Winter illnesses and inclement weather often lead to a decrease in donations, putting a strain on blood availability for emergencies, surgeries, and cancer treatments.
Rachel Flanigan, the executive director of the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter, highlighted the importance of maintaining a stable blood supply during challenging times. The current blood supply is at risk of falling short, with certain blood types like Type O, A negative, and B negative in high demand. To incentivize donors, the Red Cross has partnered with the National Football League to offer a special giveaway tied to the upcoming Super Bowl LX.
Donors who give blood between now and January 25, 2026, will be automatically entered for a chance to win a Super Bowl prize package. The grand prize includes two tickets to the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, access to pregame events, the Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare, a three-night hotel stay, and a $1,000 gift card for travel expenses. While the allure of winning Super Bowl tickets is enticing, the true impact lies in the act of donating blood, which can be completed in under an hour and is safe for most eligible donors to do every 30 days.
To participate in the giveaway and make a life-saving donation, appointments can be scheduled through the Red Cross Blood Donor App, online at redcross.org/GiveBlood, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS. Donating blood not only gives you a chance to win a Super Bowl experience but also helps ensure that hospitals have the blood supply needed to care for patients in need. Join the Red Cross in making a difference this National Blood Donor Month.
