Florida State University Announces New Coaching Additions to Elevate Offensive Success

Florida State University has appointed Kam Martin as the new running backs coach, who has a track record of coaching 1,000-yard rushers every year. Head coach Mike Norvell also announced that Tim Harris Jr., the pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach, has been promoted to co-offensive coordinator. Martin brings a wealth of experience, having coached at various institutions and developed several successful rushing attacks. He is known for his recruiting skills and ability to develop players both on and off the field. Martin expressed his excitement to join the Seminoles and looks forward to working with the current running backs and recruiting new talent to Tallahassee.

Martin's coaching career includes stints at Tulsa, UCF, and Incarnate Word, where he has consistently produced 1,000-yard rushers and impressive rushing statistics. At Tulsa in 2025, he helped Dominic Richardson achieve over 1,000 rushing yards and become a standout player in the American Athletic Conference. Martin's coaching tenure at UCF saw him mentor RJ Harvey, who excelled under his guidance and earned accolades such as All-Big 12 honors and Doak Walker Award semifinalist recognition. Harvey's exceptional performances on the field showcased Martin's coaching prowess and ability to develop top-tier running backs.

During his time at Incarnate Word, Martin played a pivotal role in the team's success, leading them to a school-record 12 wins and a deep run in the FCS Playoffs. His coaching helped Marcus Cooper set multiple program records for rushing yards and all-purpose yards, highlighting Martin's impact on player development and team performance. Martin's coaching philosophy emphasizes a strong rushing attack and offensive efficiency, which has translated into success for the teams he has coached.

Tim Harris Jr., who has been instrumental in FSU's offensive success as the pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach, has been recognized for his contributions and promoted to co-offensive coordinator. Under Harris' guidance, the Seminoles led the ACC in various offensive categories and showcased a dynamic and explosive offense. Players like Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Lawayne McCoy flourished under Harris' coaching, demonstrating significant growth and playmaking ability throughout the season.

As Florida State continues to build on its offensive success, the addition of Kam Martin and the promotion of Tim Harris Jr. signal a commitment to excellence and player development. Both coaches bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success, which will be instrumental in shaping the future of the Seminoles' offense. With a focus on recruiting top talent and maximizing player potential, the coaching staff is poised to lead FSU to new heights in the upcoming seasons.
