Annapolis Resident Arrested on Felony Assault Charges After Road Rage Incident on U.S. Route 50

An Annapolis resident, Kaila Crews, was taken into custody on felony assault charges related to a gun following an apparent road rage altercation on U.S. Route 50 in December. The Maryland State Police reported that Crews, 29, was apprehended and accused of first- and second-degree assault as well as using a firearm in a felony offense. Authorities responded to a call on December 18 regarding an incident of road rage on westbound U.S. Route 50 near Interstate 97. The victim informed troopers that a woman brandished a crowbar and a gun during the confrontation, although no injuries were sustained. Upon searching Crews' vehicle, investigators discovered a loaded gun in a backpack on the front passenger seat. The investigation is ongoing.
