Tragic One-Car Crash in Morrow County: Teenager Killed, Another Injured

A tragic one-car crash in Morrow County resulted in the death of a 14-year-old teenager from Bellville and serious injuries to a 16-year-old teenager from Galion. The incident occurred on Morrow County Road 59 near County Road 56 in Congress Township. The driver, a 16-year-old male from Galion, lost control of the 1999 Ford Ranger he was driving, veered off the road, and collided with a tree. The driver was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with serious injuries, while the passenger, the 14-year-old from Bellville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both teenagers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, and alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the accident. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Morrow County EMS, and 24/7 Towing, responded to the scene to investigate the crash. The names of the teenagers involved were not released by the patrol, and the incident remains under investigation.
