Netflix Cancels 'The Talisman' Adaptation: Duffer Brothers' Project Update
Netflix and the creators of "Stranger Things," Matt and Ross Duffer, had multiple projects in the works in July 2022. The Duffer brothers' production company, Upside Down Pictures, had ambitious plans for various projects, including a live-action version of "Death Note" and an adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub's novel "The Talisman." The story follows a young man who travels between New Hampshire and an alternate world called 'The Territories' to save his mother. Amblin Entertainment and Paramount Television were set to produce the series. However, the Duffers recently announced that the adaptation of "The Talisman" is no longer happening at Netflix, and they are no longer involved in the project. Despite efforts to bring the book to the screen over the years, the Netflix series, announced in 2021, has been canceled.
