This incident sparked a riot among fans, resulting in injuries and significant damage to equipment. Despite facing criminal charges, Axl was not held responsible for inciting the riot. The fan involved in the incident, nicknamed "Stump," later sued Axl for damages, which was settled out of court. Guns N' Roses did not return to St. Louis for over 26 years but made a comeback in 2017 and are scheduled to perform in the city again in 2026.
