Junior quarterback Devon Dampier had an outstanding performance with five total touchdowns, 310 passing yards, and 148 rushing yards. The defense held Nebraska to 182 passing yards and 161 rushing yards.

Nebraska initially took a 14-7 lead in the first quarter, but Utah quickly responded. Dampier connected with tight end JJ Buchanan for a 20-yard touchdown to tie the game at 14-14. Kicker Dillon Curtis added a field goal to give Utah a 17-14 lead before Dampier scored his second rushing touchdown of the game, putting the Utes ahead 24-14 at halftime.

A pass to Dallen Bentley in the fourth quarter sealed the victory with a final score of 44-14.
