Phish Delivers Epic Setlist at New Year's Eve Run: A Recap of Night Two

Phish took the stage for the second night of their annual New Year's Eve run with a strong opening segment, including a powerful "Carini" that transitioned into "Plasma." The band then surprised the audience with a performance of "Quadrophonic Toppling" from their 2000 album, The Siket Disc, a fan favorite deep cut that sparked controversy among fans in the past. This performance marked the first time the band played the song in a manner that closely resembled the original album version.

Following the bust out, Phish played "The Curtain With" and "Bathtub Gin" before moving into the second set, which featured the debut of "The Final Hurrah" sandwiched between "Mike's Song" and "Weekapaug Groove." The highlight of the night was the improvisational journey of "A Wave Of Hope," a dark and repetitive rock riff that built to a tremendous crescendo. The set also included "Twenty Years Later," "Golden Age," and closed with "Character Zero."

The encore featured "The Lizards" for the first time since 2022, followed by the classic "Possum" to end the show. With big songs and jamming potential on the horizon, Phish gears up for the upcoming shows at MSG, promising more musical adventures for their fans. Don't miss the livestreams via LivePhish for the penultimate show of this year's run.
