Ryan Coogler recently shared in an interview that he had wanted to include Kraven the Hunter in the 2018 film Black Panther. The idea was inspired by the Black Panther comics written by Christopher Priest, which featured a showdown between the superhero and Kraven. However, Coogler's request to include Kraven in the movie was denied by Sony, the studio that owns the rights to the character. Despite the setback, Coogler ultimately embraced the decision, leading to Andy Serkis portraying Ulysses Klaue in the film instead.
Following the rejection of Kraven's appearance in Black Panther, Coogler went on to direct the successful film Sinners in 2025. He is now preparing to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) by directing the third Black Panther movie. While details about the upcoming film are scarce, there are rumors circulating about a star-studded cast, with speculation about the potential addition of veteran actor Denzel Washington.
