Trump Addresses Epstein Allegations and False Narratives on Truth Social

Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to address the coverage of his association with Jeffrey Epstein, dismissing it as fake news. In his Christmas message, Trump criticized those who had previously supported Epstein but distanced themselves when things got heated, blaming him for their own actions. He also accused Democrats, the New York Times, and others of perpetuating false narratives, including Russian interference in the 2016 election.
The recent release of files in the Epstein case included an unverified rape allegation against Trump, detailed in an FBI intake report from 2020. The report mentioned a former limo driver's account of a 1999 encounter involving Trump and an unnamed woman. The driver claimed Trump made concerning statements on the phone, referencing someone named Jeffrey and allegedly abusing a girl. The woman with the driver reportedly accused Trump of rape, along with Jeffrey Epstein.
The Department of Justice addressed the claims in the released documents, labeling them as untrue and sensationalist, particularly noting their timing right before the 2020 election. These documents were made public as part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law signed by Trump in November to disclose files related to Epstein's investigations, albeit with redactions. Trump, who had a known connection to Epstein, had initially opposed the legislation but later signed it.
During the holiday week, Trump focused on his political achievements and engaged in NORAD Santa Claus calls on Christmas Eve. He boasted about winning Pennsylvania in the 2024 election during a call with a child from the state, emphasizing his victory there. Trump's holiday activities and statements reflected his ongoing efforts to shape public perception and maintain his political image.
