Chris Kiffin Joins LSU Coaching Staff as Co-Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach

LSU has officially announced a significant expansion of Lane Kiffin's coaching staff, adding 11 new assistants, including Chris Kiffin, Lane's younger brother, as linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator alongside Blake Baker. Chris Kiffin brings two decades of coaching experience to Baton Rouge, having worked in college football and the NFL. He will share play-calling and schematic duties with Baker to stabilize and modernize LSU's defense.

Chris Kiffin, the son of legendary defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, and brother of LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, grew up immersed in football's strategic and recruiting demands. Despite acknowledging the challenges of living in Lane's shadow, Chris is excited to join LSU's coaching staff. He is married to Angela Kiffin, a former basketball coach, and they have four children.

Chris Kiffin's coaching journey began as a student assistant at Idaho and included NFL exposure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has held various coaching positions at USC, Arkansas State, and Ole Miss, contributing to successful defensive units and recruiting efforts. This will be the fourth time Chris and Lane Kiffin work together in a coaching capacity, aiming to replicate their past successes.

The Kiffin brothers previously worked together at Florida Atlantic and Ole Miss, achieving significant success in improving team performance and winning championships. Chris Kiffin's return to a coaching role under Lane at LSU marks a new chapter in their coaching partnership, with high expectations for the Tigers' defense under their leadership.
