Murder Suspect Deemed Mentally Incompetent: Trial on Hold for American Idol Music Supervisor's Case

The suspect in the murders of American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca will not face trial. 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, who was arrested in connection with the killings, has been deemed mentally incompetent to stand trial by a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge. The couple died in a double homicide at their home in Encino, Calif., with Boodarian identified through video surveillance. The suspect has refused to appear in court and communicate with his attorney, leading to the ruling of mental incompetence. The case will be revisited in a follow-up status hearing in March 2026.
