Look Like Trouble: Holly Golightly's Latest Album Blends Alt.Americana with English Touch

Holly Golightly, a prominent figure in the British garage-band scene, has recently released a new album titled Look Like Trouble. Known for her work with Thee Headcoatees and The Brokeoffs, Holly's latest album features a blend of alt.Americana with a unique English touch. Recorded in London with her long-time British band at Gizzard studio, the album showcases songs that have been in the making for several years.

One of the standout tracks on the album, "Black Tongue," delves into the concept of a hex in Southern folklore where speaking ill of others results in a black tongue. Another poignant song, "It's All," was inspired by the loss of three close musician friends and serves as a tribute to their memory. The lyrics reflect on the transient nature of life and the resilience to endure hardships.

Despite a seven-year gap since her last album, Holly Golightly's return was delayed by the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Balancing her music career with a day job in the legal field, Holly's passion for music has always been a side pursuit. Her move to Georgia fulfilled a childhood dream of owning land and living a rural lifestyle with horses and other animals.

Growing up in a bohemian household, Holly's unconventional upbringing instilled in her the belief that anyone can pursue their passions freely. Her collaboration with Jack White on the duet "It's True That We Love One Another" stemmed from a chance encounter during the recording of The White Stripes' album "Elephant." The title of her latest album, "Look Like Trouble," reflects a Southern saying that suggests appearing a certain way without embodying it.

"Look Like Trouble" is now available through Damaged Goods, showcasing Holly Golightly's signature blend of alt.Americana with a touch of English sensibility.
