Detroit Lions Update Practice Squad with Addition of Cornerback Keenan Garber

The Detroit Lions have made changes to their practice squad, with the Tennessee Titans signing defensive back Erick Hallett from the Lions' squad. In response, the Lions have added cornerback Keenan Garber to their practice squad. Hallett started in a recent game for the Lions due to injuries to other players and performed well with 10 tackles and a pass defended. Originally a sixth-round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Hallett made his regular season debut this year with the Lions.
When a player is taken from a practice squad, the original team usually has the option to sign them to their 53-man squad, but the Lions did not exercise that option in this case. This decision could indicate positive news regarding the availability of injured player Thomas Harper. To replace Hallett on the practice squad, the Lions brought in Garber, an undrafted rookie who previously spent time with the Vikings and Colts. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 188 pounds, Garber was a two-year starter at Kansas State, showcasing his skills with 11 passes defended, two interceptions, and 51 tackles.
Garber, who has yet to play in an NFL game, presents an opportunity for the Lions to develop a promising young player. With his college experience and potential, Detroit may see Garber as a valuable addition to their roster moving forward.
