Federal Authorities Thwart Terrorist Plot by Radical Pro-Palestinian Extremist Group in Los Angeles

Federal authorities have thwarted a credible terrorist threat by apprehending four individuals associated with a radical pro-Palestinian extremist group in Los Angeles. The group, identified as a faction of the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF), was allegedly planning coordinated bombings on New Year's Eve at multiple locations in the city. The suspects were arrested in Lucerne Valley while reportedly preparing to test explosive devices for the planned attacks. They have been charged with conspiracy and possession of destructive devices.
The FBI disclosed that the arrested individuals were part of an extremist group with pro-Palestinian, anti-law-enforcement, and anti-government sentiments. Additionally, a fifth person linked to the same TILF group was apprehended in New Orleans for allegedly plotting a separate attack. The TILF group, as per its Instagram account, aims to liberate "Turtle Island," a term referring to North America, from what they perceive as the "illegal American empire." The account's posts advocate for the liberation of Palestine, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, emphasizing the need to combat American imperialism for a secure and peaceful future.
