The Nebraska Cornhuskers suffered their first loss of the season in a thrilling match against Texas A&M. The Aggies upset the Huskers with a 3-2 victory at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Texas A&M's strong blocking and serving kept the home crowd quiet for most of the match, neutralizing Nebraska's potent offense. The Aggies dominated with 17 blocks and nine aces, taking the first two sets with impressive runs.
Despite the setback, Nebraska fought back, winning the third set and pushing the fourth set to a marathon 37-35 victory. The back-and-forth battle continued in the fifth set, with both teams trading points. Texas A&M ultimately secured the win with a 15-13 victory in the final set. The final scores were 25-22, 25-22, 20-25, 35-37, and 15-13 in favor of Texas A&M.
Kyndal Stowers and Logan Lednicky led the Aggies' offensive charge with 25 and 24 kills, respectively, while Harper Murray paced the Husker offense with 24 kills and Rebekah Allick added 15 kills. The loss marked Nebraska's first home defeat since 2022 and Texas A&M's first win against a top-ranked team since 1995.
The Huskers finished the 2025 season with a 33-1 record, and the match against Texas A&M was the final game for four seniors: Taylor Landfair, Allie Sczech, Maisie Boesiger, and Rebekah Allick. Despite the loss, the Huskers had an impressive season under new head coach Dani Busboom Kelly, showcasing their resilience and competitive spirit.
