Winter Storm Warning: Snow, Cold, and Hazardous Driving Conditions Ahead in Ohio

A Winter Storm Warning is currently in effect for areas along and south of I-70 in Ohio through Saturday night. Snowfall amounts are expected to range from 3 to 6 inches in these areas, while areas north of I-70 may see 2 to 4 inches of snow. As the snow falls, roads will become very slippery, making driving conditions hazardous. The situation may worsen as winds increase on Sunday morning, leading to blowing and drifting snow, especially in rural areas. Wind chills could drop into the teens below zero early Sunday, with highs only reaching the upper teens and lows dropping into the single digits that night.
The bitter cold weather will continue into Monday, with wind chills near zero in the morning. However, a slight warmup is expected later in the day, with temperatures rising above freezing by Wednesday and reaching the 40s by Thursday. Thursday will bring widespread rain to the region, providing relief from the cold temperatures. Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies with snow ending near midnight and very cold wind chills ranging from -10 to -15. Sunday will start off dangerously cold with wind chills around -10, but temperatures will remain in the teens under mostly cloudy skies. Monday will see bitter cold conditions in the morning with wind chills below zero, followed by mostly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 20s. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the lower 30s, while Wednesday will see highs in the upper 30s under mostly cloudy conditions. Thursday will bring scattered showers with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s, marking a significant warmup from the frigid temperatures earlier in the week.
