Goosemas XII: Barnaby Glimpse's Show Upon Time - A Phantom Menagerie Recap

The highly anticipated Goosemas XII kicked off at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, RI, with a captivating performance centered around the theme "Barnaby Glimpse's Show Upon Time: A Phantom Menagerie" set in 1734. The band members donned period costumes and were accompanied by Stuart Bogie on woodwinds and animal puppets on stilts throughout the show.

The first set featured wildlife-themed songs, including Goose originals like "Creatures," "Atlas Dogs," "Red Bird," and "Animal," along with covers such as Caravan Palace's "Dramophone," The Shouting Matches' "Bear," and Pink Floyd's "Pigs (Three Different Ones)."

Returning for the second set, Goose created a dark colonial carnival atmosphere with a powerful rendition of their own "So Ready" followed by an epic 20-minute performance of "Arrow" leading into their first-ever cover of Radiohead's "Burn the Witch." The set concluded with extended versions of "Madhuvan" and "Dripfield."

The encore began with Goose's original "Jed Stone," followed by Gregory Alan Isakov's "Master & A Hound," and a debut duo performance of Neil Young's "Sugar Mountain" by Rick Mitarotonda and Peter Anspach. Goosemas XII will wrap up tonight at the AMP.
