Everybody To Kenmure Street: A Tale of Community Resilience and Unity

Conic has secured the distribution rights for the documentary film Everybody To Kenmure Street in the UK and Ireland. The film, directed by Felipe Bustos Sierra, will make its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. It tells the story of a remarkable act of civil resistance in Glasgow, where residents came together to prevent the deportation of their neighbors. The film incorporates crowd-sourced footage, archive material, and set-designed scenes to capture the events of that day. It is set to be released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland in the spring of 2026.
Produced by Ciara Barry for barry Crerar, in collaboration with Debasers Filums, Everybody To Kenmure Street has received support from Screen Scotland, Scottish trade unions, and a Kickstarter campaign. The film's executive producers include Emma Thompson and Mark Thomas. Bustos Sierra expressed gratitude to the contributors and crew for their dedication in bringing the film to life and looks forward to sharing it with audiences.
Described as a hopeful film that celebrates the strength of community, Everybody To Kenmure Street resonates with the current societal challenges and the power of collective action. The filmmakers, who were residents of the Glasgow community where the events took place, are eager to share the film's message with a global audience. Emma Thompson praised the documentary for showcasing the inherent goodness of people and shedding light on the systemic issues that hinder progress.
Everybody To Kenmure Street marks Bustos Sierra's second feature film, following the success of Nae Pasaran, which received accolades at the Scottish Baftas in 2018. The documentary promises to offer a poignant and inspiring narrative that reflects the resilience and unity of individuals in the face of adversity. Stay tuned for the film's premiere at Sundance and its subsequent release in cinemas in the UK and Ireland in the coming months.
