Elvis Costello to Perform on MGM+ Series Words + Music and Announces U.K. Headlining Shows
Elvis Costello is set to appear on an upcoming episode of the new MGM+ series Words + Music, which will debut on Sunday, December 14, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The show is a music-performance series inspired by the popular Audible audio series of the same name. Costello, a British Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, will perform songs from his extensive catalog with his band The Imposters, along with special guests Eleanor Whitmore and Seán McKeon.
During the episode, Costello will share anecdotes about his music and career, and the show will include a visual presentation featuring his artwork, cartoons, and family photos. The Words + Music series premiered with John Legend and will also feature Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette in subsequent episodes. Costello has announced a series of U.K. headlining shows in June and July 2026 as part of his ongoing “Radio Soul!: The Early Songs of Elvis Costello” tour, where he will perform songs from the first nine years of his career.
The U.K. performances will take place in Birmingham, London, Portsmouth, and Newcastle, with special guest guitarist Charlie Sexton joining Costello and The Imposters. These shows will coincide with a series of European performances where Costello and The Imposters will open for Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts.
