Anheuser-Busch Facility Closure: Impact on Merrimack and Company's U.S. Operations
The Anheuser-Busch facility in Merrimack is set to close in early 2026 as part of the company's efforts to modernize its U.S. manufacturing operations. This decision follows the closure of the company's facilities in Fairfield, California, and Newark, New Jersey. Anheuser-Busch plans to shift production from these three facilities to other locations in the U.S. The company aims to invest more in its remaining operations and growing brands as a result of these changes.
Approximately 475 full-time employees are currently working at the Merrimack, Fairfield, and Newark facilities. Anheuser-Busch has stated that all employees will be offered full-time roles at other U.S. facilities. Those who choose to relocate within the company will receive relocation stipends and training for their new roles. Employees who decline the transfer offer will receive a severance package and additional support from the company.
The Merrimack facility has been a part of the community for 54 years, with an $11.3 million expansion announced in 2017. In 2018, it was revealed that the Budweiser Clydesdales would no longer train in New Hampshire. The closure of the Merrimack facility is part of Anheuser-Busch's strategic plan to enhance its manufacturing operations and focus on its growing brand portfolio.
