The deal has the potential to reach $20 million pending a physical examination. Finnegan had a solid 2025 season, showcasing a 3.47 ERA, 18 walks, and 55 strikeouts in 57 innings split between the Washington Nationals and the Tigers. The Tigers acquired Finnegan from the Nationals at the trade deadline, where he excelled with a remarkable 1.50 ERA, four walks, and 23 strikeouts in 16 games.
