Luke Nichols: From YouTube Creator to Young Men General Advisory Council Member
Luke Nichols, the creator of the Outdoor Boys YouTube channel, has recently been appointed to the Young Men General Advisory Council of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This council consists of fourteen men who will support the Young Men General Presidency in guiding and caring for the young men in the church. Nichols and the other council members began their service on December 1.
Nichols' new role comes after he unexpectedly left YouTube earlier this year. In a video titled "Goodbye" posted in May, Nichols reflected on his 11-year journey as a YouTube creator and expressed concerns about the impact of his channel's rapid growth on his family life. He mentioned feeling overwhelmed by the attention from fans and the need to prioritize his family's well-being over his channel's expansion.
Acknowledging the need to step back from the spotlight and focus on helping others, Nichols expressed excitement about this new chapter in his life. His appointment to the Young Men General Advisory Council marks a significant shift in his priorities and a commitment to serving the community.
