2026 Producers Guild of America Documentary Award Nominees Announced
The Producers Guild of America recently revealed the nominees for its annual documentary award, featuring notable films like The Alabama Solution, My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay, and The Perfect Neighbor. The list includes documentaries from HBO, Netflix, and National Geographic, with a notable absence of some Oscar contenders. The winners will be announced during the 2026 PGA Awards ceremony on Feb. 28, with a separate announcement for the PGA Innovation Award winners on Feb. 26. The awards aim to recognize exceptional achievements in documentary filmmaking and the application of emerging technology, celebrating the dedication and excellence of producers in the industry. Last year's outstanding producer of documentary motion picture award went to the producers of Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. The nominees for sports, children's, and short form content will be announced on Friday, while the nominees for theatrical motion pictures, animated theatrical motion pictures, television series/specials, and televised or streamed motion pictures will be announced on Jan. 9.
