Sheryl Crow: A Journey to Fame and Success
Sheryl Crow's journey to fame was not an overnight success story. It took her 15 years of hard work, including singing jingles for McDonald's and writing songs for other artists, before she finally broke through with her album "Tuesday Night Music Club" in 1993. With the help of her friend Don Henley, she transitioned from giving away her best songs to recording them herself, leading to her becoming a star at the age of 33.
Despite the common belief in a "best new artist curse," Crow's career continued to flourish after winning three Grammys in 1995, including best new artist. She received a humorous fax from Don Henley listing previous winners who had faded into obscurity, but Crow's success only continued to grow. She went on to become one of the most successful singer-songwriters of the '90s, winning six more Grammys and earning a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
