Fatal Crash in Allentown: Man Dies After Injuring State Troopers in Evading Traffic Stop

A tragic incident occurred in Allentown as a 27-year-old man lost his life in a crash after allegedly injuring two Pennsylvania State Police troopers while attempting to evade a traffic stop. The events unfolded around 12:13 a.m. on Sunday when state troopers tried to pull over a 1999 Ford F-150 in Allentown. Despite initially failing to stop, the driver eventually halted the truck near 29th and Lehigh streets in Allentown. When the troopers approached to arrest the driver, he struck them with his vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The injured troopers reentered their vehicle and pursued the driver until he lost control of the truck at South 12th and Vultree streets. The driver collided with a fire hydrant, a utility pole, and the Lehigh Valley Logistics Building along the 1800 block of South 12th Street, resulting in him being ejected from the vehicle. Upon arrival, emergency responders provided aid, and the driver was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after the crash. The troopers were also hospitalized overnight for their injuries but were later discharged.
