Dave Mustaine Discusses Exclusion of Former Band Members on Megadeth's Farewell Tour

Dave Mustaine, the frontman of Megadeth, has made it clear that former band members will not be invited as guests on the band's upcoming farewell tour due to the behavior of one member in the past. Although he did not mention the specific individual, it is likely that he was referring to former bassist David Ellefson, who was dismissed in 2022 following allegations of inappropriate behavior with a fan. Mustaine emphasized that it would be unfair to the current band members to bring back former members without including everyone. Despite this, he expressed openness to reuniting with other ex-Megadeth members, such as Marty Friedman, in the future. The farewell tour is set to begin in early 2026 and will feature Anthrax and Exodus as supporting acts. The band's final album, titled "Megadeth," is scheduled for release in January and will include a cover of Metallica's "Ride The Lightning."
