Paul Thomas Anderson's 'One Battle After Another' Dominates National Board of Review Awards

Paul Thomas Anderson's film "One Battle After Another" continued its winning streak in the early awards season by being named the Best Film by the National Board of Review. The crime thriller also received accolades for Best Director for Anderson and Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio. Other winners included Benicio Del Toro for Best Supporting Actor and Chase Infiniti for Breakthrough Performer.

Rose Byrne was awarded Best Actress for "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You," while Cannes Palme d'Or winner "It Was Just an Accident" was named Best International Film. The NBR also recognized "Arco" as the Best Animated Film and "Cover-Up" as the Best Documentary.

Ryan Coogler won Best Original Screenplay for "Sinners," and Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar received the Adapted Screenplay award for "Train Dreams." The winners will be honored at the NBR's annual gala on January 13, 2026, in New York City.

Last year, Universal's "Wicked" was named Best Film by the NBR, and the organization has a history of selecting eventual Oscar winners. This year's winners list includes a variety of films and performances across different categories, showcasing the diversity and talent in the film industry.
