National Security Concerns: Afghan National Arrested for Bomb Threat in Fort Worth, Texas

An Afghan national was apprehended this week after sharing a video on TikTok suggesting he was constructing a bomb with the Fort Worth area in Texas as the target, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Mohammad Dawood Alokozay faced state charges for making a terroristic threat, as per court records.
Alokozay arrived in the U.S. as part of Operation Allies Welcome, a program initiated by the Biden administration to resettle Afghans after the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the suspected shooter of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., also came to the U.S. under the same program.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt reacted to Alokozay's arrest, emphasizing the national security crisis unleashed by President Biden and the ongoing efforts to address the issue.
Alokozay was apprehended by the Texas Department of Public Safety and an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force one day before the shooting in Washington, D.C.
Alokozay was granted lawful permanent resident status in the U.S. on September 7, 2022.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer for Alokozay following his arrest.
