Calgary Flames Extend General Manager Craig Conroy's Contract for Two More Years

The Calgary Flames have extended the contract of general manager Craig Conroy for two more years. Conroy expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue leading the team and emphasized his belief in the team's culture and future success. Conroy has been with the Flames front office since his retirement as a player in 2011, starting as a special assistant and eventually becoming the general manager in 2023.
During Conroy's tenure as general manager, the Flames have achieved a record of 125-107-39 over four seasons. Despite not making the postseason in the first three seasons, the team is currently struggling and sits at the bottom of the Pacific Division with an 8-14-3 record. Conroy, a native of Potsdam, N.Y., had successful playing stints with the Flames from 2000 to 2004 and 2007 to 2011, recording impressive stats throughout his NHL career.
In addition to Conroy's extension, the Flames also extended the contracts of president Don Maloney, senior vice-president of Hockey Operations/Assistant General Manager Dave Nonis, and vice-president of hockey operations/Assistant General Manager Brad Pascall for two more years. The team is looking to build on the foundation laid by these key personnel to bring success to the franchise in the future.
